Visa Opens 2025 Africa Fintech Accelerator Applications

Startups across Africa can now apply for the fifth edition of the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator. The programme is open to fintech companies with a minimum viable product (MVP) and operating at the Seed to Series A stage. Applications close on 15 August 2025. 

The programme provides selected startups access to mentorship, tools, industry networks, and Visa products to help them scale. Participants also receive access to potential investors and broader ecosystem support.

Launched in 2023, the accelerator is part of Visa’s $1 billion (USD) commitment through 2027 to drive financial inclusion in Africa. 

The three month hybrid programme begins on 12 January 2026, with a final in-person demo day scheduled for the week of 3 April 2026. It includes: 

• An onboarding week
• Ten virtual focus weeks
• Investor week
• In-person demo day

Applicants must submit a 2-3 minute video and pitch deck along with their  application.
